That’s right everyone, Dog Day on the Green is going to be THE dog event in Chicago. The official website is up and running, so CLICK HERE to take a look at all the fun stuff that is going to be happening. As an extra added bonus, Guinness and I will be co-hosting and filming an episode of the The Urban Mutt, so if you come on down to the event, you might just end up on the show!

The festival will take place on the Soldier Field Green from 10am to 5pm, August 2nd. It will be presented by the City Clerk’s office, who also has made some changes to the dog licenses that will make it easier to make Fido legal in Chicago. Remember, your pups will need licenses to attend the event, but the good news is that it’s cheap ($5 for a spayed or neutered pet), and instead of another tag clanking around, the new licenses are now just stickers you put on your rabies tag.

So check out the site, get a license if you don’t already have one, and come on over to the event on August 2nd. It will be a lot of fun, with a lot of engaging and entertaining things for you and Rover!

Think of your dog’s GI tract as a hill covered with vegetation. All of the sudden, the environment changes, all the vegetation dies off, and there’s nothing to hold the dirt in place. What happens? A landslide, and usually a big one.  This is the same sort of thing that can happen if you change your pet’s diet improperly.

A swimming pool fit for a king, deluxe suites the size of some New York apartments, and a staff whose love for pets is evident in everything they do. This is Stay., and as their sign indicates, they are indeed “a modern dog hotel.” During taping of Episode 3 for The Urban Mutt, I had the privilege of taking a behind the scenes tour of this great boarding facility.

Yes, you read right, a veterinary spa. If you thought those two words couldn’t be combined, then you my friend, are sadly mistaken. Yesterday we shot an episode of The Urban Mutt at The Royal Treatment Veterinary Spa, and it was an absolute joy. Dr. Barbara Royal was fun, personable, and down to earth, the staff was very helpful, and even the patients (and their human parents) were friendly and cooperative. The whole atmosphere was very relaxed and low stress, and we even did a little bit of Doga (yoga with your dog)!
